A bit about me.

Finding the right therapist isn’t always easy. I hope this snapshot helps you feel more informed in your process.

Identities & Interests

I am queer, transmasculine, nonbinary, white (German ancestry), temporarily able-bodied, and neurodivergent. I was born in the United States, I grew up in a California Bay Area suburb, and I’ve lived in Oakland (unceded Chochenyo Ohlone land) for 8 years. I am happiest when I’m in the redwoods, at the beach, singing with others, sweating in a sauna, making collage art, or playing with my pitbull-corgi Pippin. I welcome discussion around how my identities, privileges, lived experiences, and interests shape how I show up to this work. Here’s a video of me talking (to help you get a sense of my energy): click here.

Beliefs & Values

I do this work because I believe in the interdependent nature of individual and collective liberation. When we experience healing, we become better equipped to support the healing of others. We all have medicine to share with the world. Therapy is one of the ways that I share mine.

I do not view suffering as pathology. I contextualize client experiences within systems of power and oppression. I honor ancient cultural practices and I challenge the supremacy of modern, Western medical models.

Education & Professional Background

I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from California State University East Bay, a Multisubject Teaching Credential from CalTEACH, and a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California Irvine. I have worked in trans health settings as a clinic manager, peer counselor, mentorship program director, curriculum developer, presenter, content writer, and research assistant. I have worked in substance use settings as a harm reduction therapist, support group facilitator, and presenter. And I have worked in educational settings as a restorative justice counselor, elementary school teacher, and camp program director.
